Introduction:
The Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression – Physical Skills training program is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to prevent and manage violent and aggressive situations in the workplace. This course focuses on teaching physical skills that can be used to protect oneself and others in the event of an assault and approved methods of restraint.
Course Content:
Led by experienced instructors, the Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression – Physical Skills course covers the following topics:
Assessment of risk factors for violence and aggression
Effective communication skills to de-escalate situations
Legal and ethical considerations surrounding the use of physical interventions
Prevention and avoidance strategies
Physical skills for managing and preventing violence and aggression
Post-incident procedures and reporting requirements
Teaching Methodology:
Through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and practical exercises, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the subject matter and develop the skills necessary to apply this knowledge in real-world situations. Our tutors are taught by NFPS (National Federation of Personal Safety) and have all attained a recognised BTEC level 3 in use of restrictive practices.
Certification:
